IECO takes part in an international symposium on the next 50 years in the company

The School of Management Assistants (ISSA) at the University of Navarre invited IECO Director Manuel Guillén to be a speaker at the round table “Training and Personal Development in the Workplace”. This congress was the main academic ceremony to mark the ISSA’s 50th anniversary.

The International Symposium “The next 50 years in the Company: challenges and personal growth in a globalised world” has been part of the extensive program of events organized by ISSA at the University of Navarre to mark its 50th anniversary. The Congress was held in San Sebastian on May 23 and 24, 2014. ISSA teaches the University’s Management Assistant degree and in recent years has been a partner in numerous international agreements.

ISSA invited IECO Director Manuel Guillén to speak at the round table “Training and Personal Development in the Workplace” on this special day. It was a propitious occasion to present the IECO matrix of moral and spiritual motivation as a means of encouraging personal development in the workplace since the matrix identifies ways that have not yet been theoretically explored to any significant extent.

Other speakers at the round table included Esteban García Canal, Professor of Management at the University of Oviedo; Estíbaliz Ortiz, Professor of People Management at Pompeu Fabra University, and Carolina Ugarte, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Education and Psychology at the University of Navarre. The symposium opened with the talk “Cultivating cultural competences for a better world” by Yih-Teen Lee, Associate Professor of People Management in Organizations at IESE Business School.
