Teleological Foundations for Evaluating the Ethical Quality of Metaphor in Written Financial News Media

Human development and global justice may be contingent upon the fulfillment of other human rights, those of communication and information. Applied to a specific institution-the media, and a specific aspect-the ethical use of metaphor in financial reporting, the critical contribution of this research is twofold: on the one hand the study provides Aristotelian Teleological criteria for analyzing the ethical quality of metaphor use in financial reporting, while providing a specific framework to do so.
