Tomás Baviera

Tomás Baviera is a Senior Lecturer of Marketing at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. He holds an MSc in Telecommunication Engineering from the same university, a Master’s Degree in Applied Social Research Methods from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and a PhD in Communication from the Universitat de València. His research specialty is focused on digital marketing.

Between 1999 and 2012 he headed the Colegio Mayor de La Alameda, attached to the University of Valencia. During this period, he promoted various training programs aimed at professional development, social involvement, and especially, liberal arts.

Since 2012 he has been part of the IECO. In the 2012-2013 academic year, he was a visiting researcher at the Center for Business Ethics at Bentley University, Massachusetts, to research the logic of gift in organizations. Between 2013 and 2016 he held the position of Director of Programs at the IECO. He is currently a collaborating researcher. His study topics at the Institute are related to philosophical anthropology and organizational behavior.

He has taught Scientific Communication at the International University of Valencia, and visiting professor of Ethics at the International MBA of the Fundesem Business School.

Since 2015 he belongs to the Mediaflows research group of the University of Valencia. This group studies the processes of political communication and social mobilization.

His interest in literature has led him to publish articles on Dostoievsky, Chesterton, Newman and Tolkien. In 2014 he published the book Pensar con Chesterton: Fe, Razón y Alegría.
