William Bowman

Bill Bowman is Dean of the Busch School of Business at The Catholic University of America since 2016.  He will be stepping down as Dean on May 1 2019 in order to launch a new company, Virtues in Business, that will work with corporate executives to create a culture of virtue within their companies.

Bill has led companies as President or CEO for over 25 years.  Previously to becoming Dean, Bill was President and CEO of US Inspect in Chantilly, VA. Before that, he served as President of ChildrenFirst Inc. (now Bright Horizons). In 1982 he co-founded Spinnaker Software Corporation, one of the nation’s first educational software companies. He then co-founded Logal Software, Inc., another educational software company.  In 1978 he co-founded The Montrose School, an independent day school for girls.

Bill also worked for the Boston Consulting Group, and was appointed by the Governor of Massachusetts as a Trustee of the five campuses of the University of Massachusetts, remaining on the board for six years.
Bill is an engineering honors graduate of Northwestern University and received an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School.

He is married to Leigh Bowman.  They live in Washington, DC and have nine grown children.
