{"id":29612,"date":"2022-12-16T11:49:50","date_gmt":"2022-12-16T11:49:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iecoinstitute.org\/?p=12779"},"modified":"2023-06-14T08:26:15","modified_gmt":"2023-06-14T08:26:15","slug":"first-session-great-books-on-management","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iecoinstitute.org\/en\/first-session-great-books-on-management\/","title":{"rendered":"First Session Great Books on Management"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 3 November last, as part of the <strong>first session<\/strong> of the <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" href=\"http:\/\/iecoinstitute.org\/grandes-libros-del-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Great Books in Management Programme<\/strong><\/a><\/span> for the <strong>2022<\/strong> \/ <strong>2023<\/strong> academic year, we were honoured to have as our guest speaker <strong>Fidel Garc\u00eda-Guzm\u00e1n Garc\u00eda<\/strong>, <strong>CEO<\/strong> of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.guzmanglobal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guzm\u00e1n Global<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, a third-generation family business with more than 83 years of history dedicated to the distribution and international marketing of raw materials for industry.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/iecoinstitute.org\/grandes-libros-del-management\/\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Great Books in Management Programme<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, organised by the <strong>Institute for Ethics in Communication and Organisations (IECO)<\/strong>, is designed to offer all those attending the session a practical vision of <strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Humanistic Management<\/span><\/strong> through fundamental works for business management. <strong>The main objective<\/strong> of the sessions is to develop the <strong>ability to think globally<\/strong>, learning to integrate knowledge that allows us to better understand the fundamental problems we face today in the field of organisations and to find the best solutions, <strong>always putting people first.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After the opening of the session by <strong>Rita J\u00e1come<\/strong>, Executive Director of IECO and the IECO-UV Chair of Business Ethics, the guest speaker, <strong>Fidel Garc\u00eda-Guzm\u00e1n Garc\u00eda<\/strong>, presented the fundamental aspects of the 9 chapters of the book <strong>Give and Take<\/strong> by <strong>Adam Grant<\/strong>, recognised as book of the year, in a friendly and entertaining way and invited all attendees <strong>to reflect on why helping others leads to success.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fidel Garc\u00eda-Guzm\u00e1n Garc\u00eda<\/strong> shared with us curious and amusing examples that are included in the book and that will delight any management enthusiast.<\/p>\n<p>Once the brilliant exhibition was over, through a series of selected fragments of the work, a dialogue was established between those present in the hall and those connected through the online channel.<\/p>\n<p>The session was excellently moderated by <strong>Carlos Mar\u00eda Moreno<\/strong>, PhD from Blanquerna, Ram\u00f3n Llull University and IECO collaborator.<\/p>\n<p>It was a v<strong>ery inspiring session<\/strong> in which the speaker<strong> synthesised in a masterly way the basic concepts<\/strong> that the author deals with in his book and <strong>with his testimony<\/strong> he helped us to exemplify how to put<strong> humanist culture<\/strong> into practice in the day-to-day life of organisations.\u00a0 Without a doubt, we feel fortunate to be able to count on his presence in our programme.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-12657 \" src=\"http:\/\/iecoinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/GLM-imagen-portada-noticia.jpeg\" alt=\"First Session Great Books on Management\" width=\"578\" height=\"433\" \/><br \/>\nRita J\u00e1come (Executive Director) y\u00a0\u00a0Fidel Garc\u00eda \u2013 Guzm\u00e1n Garc\u00eda\u00a0 <span data-contrast=\"none\">(Managing Director of <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Guzm\u00e1n Global)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>More information<\/strong>: Rita J\u00e1come (IECO Executive Director): <strong>rita.jacome@uv.es<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Translated by: Elena Samper<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 3 November last, as part of the first session&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":26644,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[437],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-29612","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-great-books-program"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
