Responsible Supply Chain Management: Best Practices & New Tools

The International Humanistic Management Association (IHMA), a partner center of IECO, organizes this online activity aimed to those who want hear a brief overview of the challenges and a framework for the responsible management of a company’s supply chain. The event is presented by the Gabelli School’s Finance and Business Economics area (Fordham University), in conjunction with the Responsible Business Coalition and the Leading People and Organizations area and the IHMA.

The lecture will be led by Alice Tepper Marlin, founder and president emerita at Social Accountability International (SAI). She will present a system for assessing the strengths and weaknesses in the chain and tracking progress. The successful TenSquared capacity-building approach for addressing weaknesses and tracking improvements will be described. There will be a discussion of the business case for these approaches.

Alice is a pioneer in corporate social responsibility, starting with a Peace Portfolio in 1968(investment service for high net work individuals), proceeding to found the highly respected research organization Council on Economic Priorities with its widely reported ranking of US corporations, policy studies, Corporate Conscience Awards, annual ratings for Fortune Magazine, and best seller “Shopping for a Better World” (Ballantine Books) and culminating today in the pre-eminent global social standards organization Social Accountability International.
