The Entrepreneurial Humanistic Leadership Program celebrated from 19 to 23 June 2023 at the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard University (Boston), aims to train university professors to awaken entrepreneurial attitudes among students of the different disciplines of knowledge taught at the University of València through innovative teaching actions.
This is an international programme aimed at promoting teaching innovation in entrepreneurship among the teaching staff of the University of València. Participants attending the event were selected by the University of València based on their teaching innovation projects and academic merits, with the goal of helping to build a thriving university entrepreneurial ecosystem that can serve as a catalyst for advancing our society through innovation and shared value creation.
The programme offered hands-on sessions with professional experts in the field of humanism and entrepreneurship, as well as visits to the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Boston area, Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The Workshop kicked off on Monday 19th with participants being welcomed at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Boston in Cambridge.
On Tuesday, the 20th, the institutional opening began with presentations by Daniel Sánchez Mata (Director of RCC at Harvard), D.ª Ana Durán de la Colina (Consul of Spain in Boston) and Rita Jácome (Executive Director of IECO–UV), who after the opening she gave a presentation on the Motivations Map.
After the break, there was a presentation on “Practical Wisdom for Agile Leadership: Aiming for Flourishing & High Performance” by Karen Bohlin, who later together with Danilo Petranovich gave a practical seminar on what kind of recruitment programmes can be implemented, where real cases of humanistic entrepreneurship were presented.
On Wednesday 21st, a didactic workshop on Generative Entrepreneurship was organized throughout the morning, presented by Susan Major from Ilya labs and by Benyamin B. Lichesntein. After Wednesday’s presentation, on Thursday 22nd, a guided tour of Boston, the MIT LAB and the Harvard Campus and HBS took place.
The Workshop closed on Friday 23rd, where a didactic workshop was organized to put the entrepreneur experience into practice, followed by practical seminars on “What UVemprén has to offer” and “How to start our projects“. These were followed by a diploma ceremony where twelve professors from the University of Valencia successfully completed the programme.
The Entrepreneurial Humanistic Leadership Program is an initiative organized by the Vice-Rectorate for Innovation and Transfer and the Vice-Rectorate for Lifelong Learning, Educational Transformation and Employability, through UVemprén entrepreneurial hub, and the Institute of Ethics in Communication and Organizations (IECO), sponsored by Banco Santander and with the sponsorship of the Santander Universities International Internship Programme and the University of València.
